Not sure where to begin, ha, ha…. This past year has been the most exciting journey. After 25 years of working in retail, I decided to take a break due to some health issues. I found myself with the job of full time homemaker with no computer skills. I did not even own a computer until 3 years ago.
A few years back I was teaching Mexican cooking classes and discovered how much I loved sharing the traditional Mexican recipes I learned from my parents. My main reason for finally deciding to purchase a computer was so that I could connect with my family in Mexico, Texas and California.
Once online, I found myself exploring many blogs and sites that shared recipes and pictures of foods that I love. One day I stumbled upon the Hispanic Kitchen site. That same week I joined and begin blogging and sharing recipes, many, many recipes, lol! Quoting the owner of the site, Jorge, he said, ” You came in like a hurricane!” Well, you could say I was a little excited, ha, ha! Finally, I found an outlet where I could be creative doing the thing I loved the most, which is cooking.
As a result of my work on Hispanic Kitchen, I was asked to be part of the contributing team on Que Rica Vida. I help develop recipes that are shared on the site as well as an online magazine that they also publish. It has been the biggest honor and even bigger blessing to be part of both sites. The driving force behind all of this, is to continue my parents legacy and to share all that I learned from them. I am looking forward to 2014 and what new projects it may bring me.
