Equipment

  • Blender
  • Large pitcher

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2-2 lbs Watermelon
  • 1 1/2 pounds Strawberries
  • 3 large oranges
  • 2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 4 oz Simple Syrup
  • 6-8 oz brandy or watermelon flavored vodka
  • 1.75 l Sparkling or rose wine
  • Ice!

Instructions

  • To the blender, add 1 pound of fresh watermelon and 1/2 pound fresh strawberries, roughly chopped. Blend on high until smooth. Set aside.
  • Slice the remaining watermelon and strawberries into smaller, bite size pieces. I left some watermelon with the rind on. Slice one of the oranges into thin wedges. Juice the remaining two oranges and set aside.
  • To a large pitcher, add in some of the mixed, sliced fruit. Reserve some for garnish. Pour in the fruit puree, lime juice, orange juice, brandy, simple syrup and wine. Stir well to combine. Cover and chill for a few hours.
  • When ready, stir sangria and pour into goblet style glasses that are filled with ice. Garnish with more fresh fruit.
