It started small, but now my thrift/junk store finds need a space of their own. I have been lucky enough to find all sorts of dishes and linens which include vintage, Mexican and just interesting things to feature in my food blog. The white enamel plate and linen are the newest finds at a roadside junk shop near Utica, New York. I love them!!

I love getting all your traditional recipes you post. After living in New Mexico for a couple of years, I came to crave chile!!!! I know Mexican food is so different, but both are so delicious. I lived in L.A. as well and they have some very authentic Mexican food. Yum, keep cooking, can hardly wait to make the Mexican Pizza!

Thank you Kathy. I love New Mexico almost as much as I love L.A. and the foods that come with them both. They are different, but both are delicious. Thanks for the kind words. They encourage me to do the best job that I can.

Sonia – It’s nice seeing you find little bits of your history in Upstate New York. I’m originally from Fairport, NY a village on the outskirts of Rochester, Exit 45 (Victor/I-490). That exit takes you thru Victor, where Eastview Mall is (Champs, which is awesome BTW & PF Changs Restaurants right next to mall). While I’m 3rd generation Sicilian and there are so many ethic festivals (German, Polish, Italian and I believe Latin as well, in the city of Rochester), there are also a lot of arts & crafts festivals and always the Hilton Apple & Crafts Festival (another village, love that there called villages and not towns, so historical). There’s even a winery with wines through out NY & natonwide, Casa Larga in Fairport that has a Holidays at the Vineyard craft show every year, that’s always packed, as well as monthly wine tasting & crafting or cooking events. I know it’s a 2hr drive and Syracuse is between you and Fairport, but if you make a day or overnight trip (hotels right off exit 45) you won’t be disappointed. Just check the area out online and you’ll be so happy you did. I’m in Texas now and I really miss it.

Hi Lisa! I have visited those areas in years past. My husband used to have a friend that lived in Victor. We have visited the mall a few times. Thank you for all of the information!
